Westport Winery Garden Resort will host #1 New York Times best-selling author Tessa Bailey’s release of It Happened One Summer Collector’s Edition on May 3. Bailey wrote this steamy romance set in Westport during the pandemic. She then released the sequel Hook, Line, and Sinker at the winery in 2022.
Westport, Washington, jokingly known as a “drinking town with a fishing problem” is the setting for both books. Each story highlights the unique interaction and connection between local crab fishermen and out-of-town young women learning to fit into the tiny coastal community.
Fans flew in from around the nation to meet the author during her first visit to Westport. Bailey is looking forward to meeting more of her dedicated readers during this personal and special event since this is a town she has come to know and love with its unique blend of commercial fishing and beach tourism.
The ticket price of $48 includes a pre-signed Collector’s Edition Hardcover of It Happened One Summer. It also includes a moderated discussion with audience Q&A, photo line, and meet and greet with Tessa Bailey, exclusive event swag, a glass of wine (for those over age 21) and appetizers, optional entry in the Brendan Look-A-Like Contest, and free admission to the International Mermaid Museum.
The two sessions for this event are from 10am to noon, and from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Fans of Bailey’s 70 books can purchase tickets at www.WestportWinery.com or on the winery’s Facebook page. The receipt is the entry ticket.
As an extra feature, at noon there is a Brendan look-alike contest for brawny guys with a beard and a beanie. The winner receives a gift basket from Tessa who will judge this competition along with some of her super fans. Fill out this entry form to participate https://forms.gle/
This event is outdoors. Guests should dress for the wide variations of weather in the spring on the Washington Coast.
During the photo line, Tessa will pose for photos by a professional photographer, and guests can download their photos. This portion of the event is for pre-signed books only. No other books can be signed at this time.
Westport Winery Garden Resort is located halfway between Westport and Aberdeen on the Washington Coast at 1 South Arbor Road, Aberdeen, WA 98520, which is about two hours from Sea-Tac Airport in Seattle. In addition to the winery, the resort is home to the Sea Glass Grill, Ocean's Daughter Distillery, and the International Mermaid Museum.
The winery is ten miles from Westport, its beautiful beaches, and the famous Westport Marina. Nearby lodging options include Vacations By-the-Sea, Chateau Westport, the Marina Cottages, Loge, Westport Inn, and Twin Harbors State Park. Visitors can go to www.WestportGrayland-Chamber.
Event Details:
For this event Westport Winery Garden Resort will open at 9am. Ticket holders will be admitted to Session 1 at 9:30am. This session starts at 10am and ends at noon.
The Brendan Look-Alike Contest is at Noon.
Ticket holders for Session 2 will be admitted at noon. This session starts at 12:30pm and ends at 2:30pm.
Please have a copy of your receipt which will be your ticket (printed or on your phone) for check-in. Westport Winery is the only authorized dealer for this event. Due to health, safety, and space limitations, those without tickets will not be permitted into the event space.
All event guidelines are subject to change. Attendees can receive refunds up to 24 hours before the event's start time. Should this event be canceled, all customers will be refunded their ticket price using the original payment method.
